As usual, the Newport Folk Festival happens the weekend before the jazz festival, July 30th-Aug. 1st. What a great time of year to be in the Ocean State, huh?
The festival was named in honor of legendary producer George Wein last year, with the festivals being dubbed George Wein’s Jazz Festival 55 and George Wein’s Folk Festival 50. Last year’s festivals were their biggest ever, and don’t be surprised if the 2010 Newport Jazz and Folk festivals aren’t even bigger!
